ONLY IN NIGERIA... (1)

Only in Nigeria would the government spend 2.2 billion Naira on building a 150-capacity events hall in the Presidential Villa, while approving a contract for the supply of anti-tuberculosis drugs for the multi-drug resistant tuberculosis programme that would be sufficient to treat only 500 Nigerians where it is aware that 5000 new cases are reported in the country annually.

Only in Nigeria would the government 6.3 billion Naira on a National Identity Management System project that that we have been hearing about forever but seen no proof of, when poverty prevails in the land, and a lot of sectors and infrastructure are in urgent need of intervention.
What is amazing is the fact that people can come out and defend such frivolities. For example, on the approval of the 2.2 billion Naira for the events hall, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Muhammed said "the existing hall is inconveniencing; it is not in tandem with what is outside the country. Even smaller countries have better Banquet Halls".
Is the present Banquet Hall not enough for their events? This latest attack on the sensibilities of Nigerian people gives an insight into the thinking and priorities of the Nigerian ruling class.
ONLY IN NIGERIA!
